Technical specifications

The hull height is 26.02 ft (7.93 m). The tank is 12 ft wide (3.66 m) and has four crew members. They consist of the commander, driver, loader and gunner. There are currently more than 9,000 of these tanks in service. The armor is Chobham, RH armor (steel encased depleted uranium mesh plating).

The M1IP Specifications (1984)

Its length, height and width is the same as the M1 except for the weight (62.8 short tons (57 ft). The other technical specifications are the same as the M1. The M1IP also uses the 105 mm M68 rifled.

The MIA1 Specifications (1986-92)

The size of the M1 Abrams M1A1 is the same as the previous tanks except for the height (it is 8 ft / 2.4 m). Its top speed is 66.5 km/h (45 mph). The range is 463 km (277 mi). The M1AI weighs 67.6 short tons (61 tons). Its primary armament is the 120 mm M256 smoothbore.

The MIA2 Specifications (1992- present)

Its specifications are the same as the MIAI except for the following. The range is 391 km (243 mi). It weighs 68.4 short tons (62.1 tons).

The MIA2 SEP Specifications

The MI1A2 specifications are the same as the M1A2 except for the following. Its speed is 68 km/h (42 mph) and the weight is 69.6 short tons (63 tons).
