Screw Machines Dimensions

The screw machine types available are numerous. The following guide is for the tap drill and the clearance hole drill.

Screw Machine Size: Tap Drill (Aluminum)

For size 0, the no / diameter or screw size is .0600 and the threads per inch are 80. The drill size is 3/64. For 1, the diameter is .0730 64 / 72; the drill size is 53. For size 3, the major diameter is 0990 (48 threads; drill size 47).

For 5, the diameter is .1250 and the threads 40 / 44. The drill size is 38. For size 6, the diameter is .1380; the threads per inch: 32 / 40; drill size: 36 / 33.

Size 8 has a major diameter of .1640 with threads numbering 32 / 36. The drill size is 29. For size 10, the diameter is 1900 (threads, 24 / 32; drill size 25 / 21)

Screw Machine Size: Tap Drill (Stainless Steel)

For size 0, the diameter is 0600, threads 80 and drill size 55. For size 1, the major diameter is .0730 and the threads 64. The drill size is 1/16. For 2 (diameter .0860, 56 / 64 threads); the drill size is 49.

For drill size 44 (size 3, diameter 0990, threads 48); drill size 41 (size 4, diameter .1120, 40 threads per inch); for drill 7/64 (size 5, diameter .1250, threads 40 / 44); for drill size 32 (size 6, diameter .1380, threads 32).

For drill size 27 the size is 8, diameter 8, threads 32; drill size 20 (size 10, diameter .1900, threads 24) and for drill size 12 (size 12, diameter 2160, threads 24).

Screw Machine Size: Clearance Hole Drill (Close Fit)

For drill size 52, the specs are screw size 0, diameter .0600 and 80 threads; for size 48 it is 1, diameter 0730, 64 threads; drill size 37 (size 3, diameter .0990, 48 threads); drill size 30 (size 5, diameter .1250, threads 40) while for drill size 18, the screw machine dimensions are 8, diameter .1640 and 32 threads.

For drill size 9 (screw size 10, diameter .1900, 24 threads); drill size 2 (screw size 12, .2160 diameter, 24 threads); drill size F (1/4 size, .2500 diameter and 20 threads) and for drill size P, the screw is 5/16, major diameter .3125 and 18 threads.

Screw Machine Size: Clearance Hole Drill (Free Fit)

Drill size 50 (the diameter is 0; major diameter.0600; threads 80); for drill size 46 (screw size 1, .0730 diameter and 64 threads). Drill size 35 (size 3, .0990 diameter, threads 48); drill size 30 (size 4, major diameter .1120, threads 40) and for drill size 25 (screw size 6, .1380 diameter and threads 32).

For drill size 16 (size 8, .1640 diameter, 32 threads); for drill size 7, the specs are 10, .1900 and 24 threads. For drill size 1, size 12, .2160 diameter, 24 threads; and for drill size H (1/4, diameter 2500 and 20 threads).
