If you’re a new or casual photographer, you probably won’t need them anyway. If you’re a pro, you probably already have an idea of what features the camera must have. In this case, the price probably isn’t much of a factor. However it won’t hurt to look for discounts.

Reading reviews of pocket cameras is also recommended. It’s only in the reviews will you find its flaws (i.e., red eye, low light difficulties etc).

One more thing needs to be said about the size of pocket cameras. Smaller is not always better. If the camera is too small, you could easily end up losing it when you’re traveling.
