The coffee beans are actually defecated by animals called civet. These animals eat coffee berries and the beans pass through the animal’s digestive system whereupon they are released through bowel movement.
The beans are gathered, cleaned, dried under the sun and then lightly roasted to make them ideal for brewing coffee.
It is estimated that one pound of these beans would cost roughly about one hundred and sixty dollars.
Hacienda La Esmeralda
Grown in Hacienda La Esmeralda which is located in the western section of Panama, these coffee beans have a distinct aroma and flavor that make it the second-most expensive coffee in the world.

St. Helena Coffee
From the St. Helena Coffee Company located in St. Helena Island about a thousand miles off the coast of Africa, their coffee beans are said to also have a very distinct flavor that make them one of the most sought-after coffee beans around the world.

El Injerto Coffee
Grown and harvested in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala, these coffee beans are known for their excellent flavor and are actually one of the most popular beans around the world.
In 2006, it took the No. 1 spot for the Cup of Excellence list. One pound of these would cost about fifty dollars.
