Ideal Christmas Tree Height
It’s that time of year when Christmas trees will be put up, adorned with all sorts of ornaments to welcome the holiday season. If you’ve just moved in to a new house or you simply want to get a new tree, it is important that you get the right size otherwise, you will end up with a tree that’s either too tall or too short for your space.
To determine the ideal Christmas tree height for you, you need to first figure out where you want to place your tree so you can check the available space for the height and width of the tree.
For instance, if you have the average ceiling height of about eight to nine feet, the ideal tree height for you would be between seven feet and seven and one-half feet.
How to Determine the Ideal Christmas Tree Height
1. When determining the height for your Christmas tree, there are two things that you need to measure: the height of your door frame and the height of your ceiling.
2. The door height and also the width will help you choose a tree that will fit through the door without much effort. Although you can carry the tree vertically to slip it through the door, it would still help tremendously if you get the height of your door in the event that you need to carry the tree horizontally.
3. Check your ceiling height. This will enable you to get a size that won’t be too tall for your space. Although can cut down the tree if it’s too tall, it will be too much of a hassle. It’s always best to get the right tree height on the onset.
Now if you’re getting an artificial tree, determining the right tree height is even more important because you can’t cut down an artificial tree.
Measuring Your Space
If you don’t have a measuring tape with you, your best option is to get a tree that is about two to three feet taller than you. So basically, what you need to do is to simply add two to three feet to your height and get the tree height equivalent to the measurement you have just taken.
For the width of your tree, simply measure the floor space in diameter. This will enable you to pick a tree that is of the right width. There are slim trees that you can get if you don’t have a lot of width space.
On the other hand, if you are placing your tree by the window, get a tree that is at least 6 inches under the top of your window frame. This will make your decorated tree to be more visible, showing off the fully-decorated tree instead of just showing the middle part of it.
