Fishing Line Size Chart

Many fishing line size charts are measured in diameters. Most of the time, the lines are denoted by the X size. These sizes include 0X, 2X, 4X. This is the tippet or tip section. Superlines

Fluorocarbon

This fishing line is used by many bass anglers when pitching and flapping. The reason is that fluorocarbon is almost invisible and there is very little stretching.

Whichever size you choose, the line is noted for its rapid sink rate. The line is also noted for being more resilient than monofilament. Fluorocarbon lines are also noted for the low abrasion resistance.

Monofilament

Many seasoned anglers still use monofilament fishing lines. Although it has its weaknesses, this fishing line has its strengths. While the sizes vary, all of them are very easy to slice.

A fresh monofilament spool is noted for its excellent casting. If you are going to use monofilament, keep in mind that it can be susceptible to abrasion. This means you have to be careful when using it along wood or rocks.

The monofilament line has a propensity for spool memory. This means regular filling is necessary. In spite of the popularity of superlines, the monofilament is still very much around. The monofilament is ideal for new anglers.

Trolling Lines

The trolling lines are used by many walleye anglers. One of the advantages of using this line is that the color changes per 10 yards. This lets you determine how much line is in the water.

The line also has an even weight. It is also noted for being able to monitor the boat movements. If the trolling line will be used for a precise presentation, you must utilize large capacity reels. This is true no matter what the dimensions of the fishing line are.
