Standard Air Freight Pallets Dimensions

Air freight pallets are intended for use in conveyor systems in both aircraft and terminal systems. The pallets used in aircraft are also called Unit Load Devices.

Air Freight Pallet Dimensions

The standard pallet used for aircraft is 318 x 224 cm. The usable loading space is 304 x 210 cm. The laudability is for the A300, A310, A330, B747-200F, A340, MD11F and B747-400.

The 10 ft pallet has dimensions of 318 x 244 cm and a usable loading space of 304 x 230 cm. The 20 ft pallet has dimensions of 606 x 244 cm and usable loading space of 592 x 230 cm. The pallet PVB measures 244 x 140 cm with a usable loading space of 230 x 126 cm.

Air Freight Pallet Dimensions: Heavy Duty and Others

A heavy duty pallet is 318 x 244 cm and has a usable loading space of 304 x 231 cm. A pallet with side-enlargement PKC has dimensions of 156 x 153 cm. The usable loading space is 150 x 146 cm.

A pallet with the side-enlargement PAW is an 88” pallet with dimensions of 318 x 224 cm. The usable loading space is 304 x 210 cm (plus 50 cm for each expansion).

A pallet with side-enlargement PLW, PLA has dimensions of 318 x 153 cm. The usable loading space is 304 x 139 cm. A pallet with side-enlargement PMW measures 318 x 244 cm. This is a 96” pallet with a 304 x 230 cm usable loading space. A car transport unit measures 498 x 244 cm with 485 x 230 cm usable loading space.

Other Air Freight Pallet Dimensions

Sometimes these pallets are measured differently. The full pallet measures 68" H x 125" L x 86" W. it is 420 cubic feet and used for aircraft and freighter. The full pallet for the freight and passenger measures 88" x 100" x 86" (360 cubic feet).

The full pallet for the lower deck of the Boeing 747 is 88" x 125" x 64" (350 cubic feet). Full pallets for multiple use measure 88" x 61" x 86" (200 cubic feet). A half pallet measures 88" x 53" x 76" (160 cubic feet).

Other types of pallets include the LD8. The air freight dimensions of this container are 153 × 244 cm or 60 × 96 in. The volume is 6.88 m3 (243 cu ft).

LD11 has a volume of 7.16 m3 (253 cu ft). The linear dimensions are 153 × 318 cm (60.4 × 125 in). The LD7 comes in two variants. Type one has a volume of 10.8 m3 (381 cu ft) and linear dimensions of 224 × 318 cm (88 × 125 in). Type II has a volume of 11.8 m3 (417 cu ft) and linear dimensions of 244 × 318 cm (96 × 125 in).

The air freight pallet dimensions specified here are the most common types. Special types are used for different kinds of aircraft. Special containers are also needed for extra large cargo and other special deliveries.
