Human beings come in various height, weight and sizes. They are commonly affected by a number of different factors like hormonal and physiological control of digestion and ingestion. The Average Height of Males and Females
The height of people varies, which is actually affected by a number of controllable and uncontrollable factors. On the average, the height of an adult person is within 5 feet to 6 feet or 1.5 meters to 1.8 meters. Three of the major factors that affect these measurements are gender, age and location. In general, men grow taller compared to women.
In Argentina for instance, the average height of a sample population made up of 19-year old males is 5 feet and 8.5 inches. Using the same sample, the average height of the females is 5 feet and 3.5 inches. In Belgium, using a sample population comprised of individuals within the 21- to 25-year old range, the average height of males is 5 feet and 10.5 inches, while for females the average height is 5 feet and 6 inches. In Cameroon, adult males grow at an average 5 feet and 7 inches, while the average height of adult females is 5 feet and 3.5 inches.
Using a sample population comprised of 17-year old individuals in the Dinaric Alps, the average height of men is 6 feet and 1 inch, while the average height of women is 5 feet and 7.5 inches. Using a sample population made of up individuals with ages 25 to 34 years old in Finland, the average height of men is 5 feet and 11 inches, while the average height of women is 5 feet and 5 inches. In Ghana, the average height of men is 5 feet and 6.5 inches, while for women the average is 5 feet and 2.5 inches. A sample population comprised of 25- to 29-years old individuals was used for these measurements.
In Asian countries, the average height of males and females are lower than that of Western countries. Using a sample population comprised of college students in Thailand, the average height of men is 5 feet and 6 inches, while the average for the women is 5 feet and 2 inches. In the Philippines, the average height of males is 5 feet and 7.5 inches while the average height of females is 5 feet and 2 inches.
