Size of a Wall Clock
A wall clock of course, is used to denote the time. But as these examples will show, a lot of them now do more than that.
Wall Clock Size: La Crosse Technology WS-8117U-IT
The La Crosse Technology WS-8117U-IT measures 12-1/4 x 8 x 1-1/4 inches. The receiver measures 8" x 12.2" x 1.18" and the sensor is 5.05 " x 1.5" x.83". It comes with dual LCD screens and the finish is black accented oak. The WS-8117U can be set on the wall or be free standing.
There is a fold out stand and both time and date are displayed. The wall clock can also display both indoor and outdoor temperatures (both in Celsius or Fahrenheit).The day of the week may also be shown. The time can also be displayed in 12 or 24 hours. The time zone can be set to Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT. There are also letter identifications for all the US states.
The clock also has a built in alarm and a snooze feature. There is also a Moon phase with a dozen increments. These include gibbous, new moon and the crescent phases. The quarter and full moon are of course included.
Wall Clock Size: WT-8005U-B
The WT-8005U-B measures 9 x 1 x 7.2 inches. It is an atomic clock and employs this technology for the alarm, date and time. It can also make the updates for the season (if needed). The clock has both a snooze and alarm feature.
The wall clock can be installed on the wall or stand on its own. The clock runs on two AA batteries. The calendar is also displayed. Another feature is the Quick Time Zone, which can make it ideal for travel. The indoor temperature is also monitored and displayed by the clock.
Wall Clock Size: WT-3143A
The La Crosse Technology WT-3143A clock measures 14 inches in diameter. The time is determined by radio signal to atomic clock, making it precise. The wall clock shows the time in hours, minutes and seconds (there are four U.S. time zones).
The WT-3143A also adjusts the time accordingly for daylight savings time. An analog clock, the frame is set in plastic. The wall clock runs on a single AA battery. After the battery is installed, one has to simply to press a button to get the right time zone. If you are not in the United States time zones, the clock can be set up manually.
Wall Clock Size: WT-3122J
The WT-3122J measures 2 x 12.5 x 12.5 inches and weighs less than three pounds. The finish is wood. Like other modern wall clocks, it is a radio controlled analog. What this means is that it uses radio signals to coordinate the time with the U.S. atomic clock, allowing for greater precision and accuracy.
The unit is compatible with all four U.S. time zones. There is also a built-in option for not enabling daylight savings time. It can run for 365 days on one AA battery. The material is composed of wood and plastic.
While the aesthetics aspect shouldn’t be neglected, the wall clock size is more important particularly for those who have trouble seeing the time. This should be your first priority when looking for a wall clock.
