Men’s underwear sizes will vary slightly depending on the manufacturer. However the proceeding information can be used to give you an idea of some common measurements used.

Boys and Men Briefs Size Guide

The small size is 28 to 30; for medium it is 32 – 34 and for large it is 36 – 38. The X large is 40 – 42 and the XX large is 44 – 46. The 3X Large is 48 – 50; the 4X-Large is 52 – 54 and the 5X-Large is 56 – 58.

For boys, the small sizes are 6 and 8 while the waist is at 23 – 24 and the weight 39 – 59 lbs. The medium sizes are 10 and 12. The waist measures 25 – 26 inches and the weight is 60 – 87 lbs.

The large sizes are 14 and 16, with the waist at 28 – 30 inches. The weight is 88 – 115 lbs. Keep in mind that these boys and men briefs sizes are not used by all manufacturers.

Other Measurements Used (Inches and Centimeters)

These measurements are used not just for briefs but also for boxer shorts and swimwear. The small size is between 28-30 inches at the waist or 71-76 cm. The medium size is 32-34 inches or 81-86 cm. Large briefs are equal to 36-38 inches or 91-96 cm; X-Large measures 40-42 inches or 101-106 cm.

The 1X is equivalent to 42-44 inches or 106-112 cm; the 2X is equal to 46-48 inches and 116-122 cm. The 3X is 50-52 inches or 126-132 cm. The 4X brief size measures 54-56 inches or 136-142 cm; the 5X men briefs size measures 58-60 inches or 146-152 cm and the 6X sizes equal to 62-64 inch or 156-162 cm.

Underwear Size Conversions

The letters used in men’s underwear in the United States are XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL. The UK equivalents are 30, 32, 34, 36, 38 and 40 respectively. The brief sizes in France are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. In the EU the sizes being used are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Other countries and regions use different measurements.

Size 10 / XXS is equal to 70 cm while size 12 / XS is equivalent to 75 cm. The men briefs size 14 / S measures 80 at the waist. Size 16 (M) is 85 while the 18 size / L is equal to 90.

Size 20 or XL is equal to 95 and size 22 2XL measures 100. Size 24 / 3XL is equal to 105 cm; 26 / 4XL is equal to 110 and 28 / 5XL measures 115 cm. Size 30 / 6XL is 120 while size 32 is equal to 125; size 34 or 8XL is equal to 130 cm.
