BMW Z4 Dimensions
BMW Z4 dimensions depend on the variant. There is the BMW Z4 (E85), BMW Z4M and the BMW Z4 (E89). These models have different specifications and features.
BMW Z4 (E85)
The BMW Z4 (E85) has a wheelbase of 2,495 mm (98.2 in). The roadster version is 1,300 mm (51.2 in) high while the coupe is 1,285 mm (50.6 in). The car is 1,780 mm (70.1 in) wide and 4,090 mm (161.0 in) long. Also known as the Land Shark, it belongs to the luxury car-sports car-roadster class.
The engines are 3.2 L S54B32 I6, 3.0 L N52B30 I6, 3.0 L M54B30 I6, 2.5 L M54B25 I6, 2.2 L M54B22 I6 and 2.0 L N46B20 I4. These are the first generation, and these models became public in 2002. It is the successor to the Z3.
Second Generation (E89)

Unlike the 2009 coupe models, the version has a retractable hardtop.
BMW M Roadster
The wheelbase is 2,459 mm (96.8 in) and the length is 4,025 mm (158.5 in). The curb weight is 1,399 kg (3,084.3 lb). The M Roadster is 1,266 mm (49.8 in) high and 1,740 mm (68.5 in) wide. It is 4,025 mm (158.5 in) long.
The Roadster is the performance type of both Z4 and Z3 convertibles. The engine is from Germany. However, the models were built at Spartanburg, South Carolina. It is different from the Z3 in terms of suspension, brakes and performance. Its wheels are wide so to better handle its power. The exterior is also different from the Z3.
Safety Features
Although the features differ, there are standard safety features. There are a couple of roll-over bars at the back of the seats. If there is a roll-over, a fortified widescreen will serve as protection. There are four airbags: two side airbags and two for the driver and front passenger. There are also CBC (Cornering Brake control) and emergency brake assist.
