The size of fighter planes and their capabilities have improved dramatically since World War II. The following are the specifications for the Eurofighter Typhoon, the F-15E Strike Eagle and the F/A 18E/F Super Hornet.
Eurofighter Typhoon Specifications
The plane’s length is 52 ft 5 in (15.96 m). Its wingspan is 35 ft 11 in or 10.95 m. The wing area is 538 sq ft (50 sq m). The weight is 11,000 kg / 24,250 lbs (empty) and 34,300 lbs / 15,550 kg loaded.
The thrust with the afterburner is 90 kN (20,000 lbf). It has a maximum speed of Mach 2 (2,495 km/h / 1,550 mph) and has a range of 2,800 km (1,840 km). The service ceiling is 65,000 ft (19,912 m).
The size of fighter plane Eurofighter Typhoon allows it to carry an assortment of weapons. These include the 1× 27 mm Mauser BK-27 cannon (150 rounds). The Typhoon can also be fitted with a wide variety of air to air missiles (AIM-9 Sidewinder, ASRAAM, IRIS-T, among others).

F-15E Strike Eagle Specifications

The gun used is the 1× 20 mm (0.787 in) M61 Vulcan gatling gun. It comes with 510 rounds. The ammo is PGU 28 or M56. The Strike Eagle can be fitted with an assortment of air to air missiles. They include the AIM-9M Sidewinder, AIM-7M Sparrow or the AIM-120 AMRAAM.
The plane can also be fitted with numerous air to surface missiles like the AGM-84 Harpoon, AGM-158 JASSM, AGM-84K SLAM-ER and the 6× AGM-65 Maverick. Numerous bombs can be fitted on the Strike Eagle.
F/A 18E/F Super Hornet Specifications

The empty weight is 30,600 lbs (13,900 kg). When loaded the weight is 47,000 lbs (21,320 kg). The top speed is Mach 1.8 (1,900 km/h or 1,190 mph). This is at a height of 40,000 ft (12,190 m). The service ceiling is 50,000 ft (15,000 m).
The gun employed is the 1× 20 mm (0.787 in) M61 Vulcan nose mounted gatling gun (578 rounds). The Super Hornet can be fitted with AIM-120 AMRAAM air to air missiles as well as AIM-9 Sidewinder, the AIM-7 Sparrow and others. Air to surface missiles includes the Standoff Land Attack Missile, the AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) and the AGM-65 Maverick.
