The smallest is 12 ft by 20 ft. The larger oval pools measure 21 ft x 41 ft or even bigger. Pool depths have also increased. Before, the average pool depth was 48 inches. Now the 52 inch depth has become more popular. There are even 54 inch deep pools for sale.

How to Pick the Right Above Ground Pool Sizes

The space around your property and your budget will determine what size is right. It is nice to have a big pool, but make sure that it is in proportion to the rest of the surroundings. Location is very important.

The chosen area must provide the pool with 6 to 8 hours of sunlight. The place should be flat. There should be no obstructions in the way. Do not install the pool close to trees and
power lines.

If you are installing oval pools, remember that they have side supports. These can extend as much as three feet off the pool base. So you need to make sure there is enough room for the whole structure. Some of the newer oval pools no longer have this feature.

Materials

These pools are made from resin/plastic or steel. The steel pools are among the oldest variants around. The resin pools are much more recent. While steel is durable, it can suffer from corrosion. The resin pools do not suffer from corrosion. Resin pools are more expensive than other types. But you can be assured they will last longer.

The pool must also have a good vinyl liner. Aside from the various above ground pool sizes, you can also choose from several patterns. Some are very simple but others are intricate. You will even find liners that look like tropical reef.

The majority of pool packages have an overlap liner. These go over the walls of the pool and grip the outer pool. A rail keeps the liner in position.
